Simon Rowe

Simon Rowe worked with several professional companies in South Africa before moving to Amsterdam in 1995. Since then, he has worked from Amsterdam and he travels internationally to perform, teach and create.
Since 2000, he has been presenting workshops and performances in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Israel, Palestine, Burkina Faso, France and South Africa. Simon Rowe worked and toured with Alain Platel from Les Ballets C. de la B. from 2002 to 2005. In 2004 he joined Platel to Ramallah in an intensive artistic laboratory between European an Palestine artists.

Simon Rowe is the founder of the Dam Company, an Amsterdam-based physical theater collective. The company’s credo is a commitment to the creative exploration of our art, and a dialogue between different disciplines and cultural traditions.Simon Rowe worked with several professional companies in South Africa before moving to Amsterdam in 1995.
