Traditionally, we see the end result of dance & theater when we go to the theater, but get little insight into how a performance came into existence. Background stories and artist talks offer context and depth, but are curated. To delve a little deeper and get an idea of the thought process of the artist-at-work, their ideas, inspiration, methods,  or style, we’ve asked the artists presenting their work during Dancing on the Edge Festival 2017 to share sketches from their notebook. What did they note, write, draw, or scribble down in the process of creating their performances?
