The Art of Revolution Part 2

A Debate: Zeid Hamdan, Lana Nasser, Deena Danish, Ayman Ramadan, Mounir Saeed, Monique Samuels, Nehad Selaiha

On Sunday night, during a debate/talk show in De Balie, the future of the Middle Eastern region will be discussed. Is the general mood one of optimism or doubt? What are the hopes and dreams for the future and what are the biggest challenges? Together with all the artists present at the festival the role of art and culture with regard to the Arab Spring will be examined. Is art the engine behind political and social change or is the politicizing of it exaggerated should it just be seen for what it is? And how do the artists view their own future and the role their work will play in shaping society? This debate is a collaboration of De Balie and Dancing on the Edge.

Moderation is done by Abdelkader Benali.
