As part of the third moment of Dancing on the Edge year of listening titled Listening to Seeds, we bring to you this rich event instigated and hosted by choreographer, visual artist and seed keeper, Reza Mirabi in the context of Diaspora Radio’s mini-festival.
The radio show starts from a sentence that was graffitied onto a housewall in Meydoon-e Shush, neighborhood in Tehran, in October 2022 – right after the beginning of the ongoing feminist revolution.
.آزادی کاشتنه ما همتخمشو داریم (Azadi Kaashtanie Maa ham tokhmesho daarim) ‘Freedom needs to be planted and we have the seeds.’
As the graffiti was removed within a day after being written, Reza Mirabi invites Filmmaker and Writer Beri Shalmashi, Farmer and Musician Khaled Abdou, and Artist Rajni Shah together with the Musicians Ghenwa Noiré and Sepand Dadbeh to perform the echo of this sentence and speak about, to and with seeds, seeding, and the practice of seed-keeping in relation to Revolutionary Feminist and Ecological Movements.
