Buse

Gülsün Buse Cingöz, born in 2003 in Istanbul, Türkiye, began her dance journey at a young age with ballet training guided by her mother. She obtained training and a pedagogical certificate in the Vaganova technique. Initially aspiring to be a ballerina, her career focus shifted after performing a contemporary piece for a ballet competition. This experience led her to embrace contemporary dance as her primary academic and professional pursuit.

Buse commenced her contemporary dance training at MSFAU Istanbul State Conservatory and participated in an Erasmus Exchange during her second year. This experience influenced her decision to continue her studies abroad. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany. During her time at Folkwang, she has worked with various choreographers, each contributing different movement languages and visions, which have expanded her artistic perspectives. In addition to performing, she has also engaged in choreography, creating solo pieces that explore spatial dynamics and movement.

Buse has a notable interest in psychology, particularly in understanding the complexities of the human mind and its impact on behavior, mimics, and body language. This interest complements her dance practice and informs her creative process. She aims to further explore the intersection of psychology and dance as part of her artistic development.

Dance, for Buse, is a medium that transcends verbal communication, enabling expression beyond the limits of words and grammar. She believes that dance can unite people from diverse backgrounds, challenge gender norms, and highlight the commonalities of human experience.

Buse remains dedicated to her dance career, viewing it as a lifelong commitment. Her focus is on continuing to develop as an artist, with no intention of diverting from her chosen path at this stage of her journey.
