Iraqis Bodies

Led by the choreographer Muhanad Rasheed, Iraqis Bodies is a group of three male dancers. All of them studied dance and theater at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad. They started collaborating together after taking part in a workshop given by the Iraqi/Swedish teacher Ttalat Al Samauey.

Rasheed’s choreographic and theater works have been performed at the Mada Festival in Iraq, the Cairo Festival in Egypt, the Jaresh Festival in Jordan, and the Philadelphia Festival, also in Jordan, where the piece Crying of My Mother won the jury prize in 2007. All three company members were forced to flee Iraq due to the fighting in the country.
