Ahmed Kamal studied Cimena at the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
He participated in the second course at the Independent Film and Television College in Baghdad in 2006/7, during which he made his film Documentary Course March 2006. He worked as festival coordinator for the International Short Film Festival Baghdad and was cameraman for the in Iraq controversial film www.gilgamesh.21. All crew members had to leave Iraq. Kamal went to the Netherlands in 2007.
