DAS Theatre - Summer Presentations
DAS Graduate School

At the end of the first year, DAS Theatre participants are invited to share part of their artistic research. This year's Summer Presentations take place on June 17th and 18th at DAS Graduate School. During these two days, 1st-year participants:
Isadora Tomasi, Piotr Urbaniec, Fariborz Karimi, Rebekka Bangerter, Wojciech Grudziński, and 2nd year Agat Sharma, open up their studio practices and draft performance ideas, making these processes accessible to others.

Artist

Fariborz Karimi 

Fariborz Karimi  (Tehran, 1990) is a theater maker, performer and writer living in Amsterdam. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Directing and Acting from Tehran University in 2013, and graduated from the master’s degree at DAS Theater (Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten) in 2023. 

With his artistic practice, questions the meanings of self-censorship in different contexts, fueled by his own experiences. Fariborz asks socio-political questions through autobiographical and fictional stories, blurring the line between dream and reality.

Fariborz works Has been supported by different residencies such as Hellerau(Dresden, DE), BUDA centrum (Kortrijk, BL), WorkspaceBrussels (Brussels,BL), Theater Rotterdam Productiehuis (Rotterdam, NL). Fariborz has received the 3 Package Deal from the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts which is a year of support for talented Amsterdam based artists. 

In Iran, Fariborz was one of the co-founders of the Bohemi Theatre Collective, with whom they created several performances. His works have been shown at international festivals and venues such as ITs Festival (Amsterdam, NL), ITFok Kerala (India), ACT Bilbao (Spain), BOZAR (Brussels, Belgium), Amsterdam Fringe Festival (Amsterdam,NL) and Festival Cement (Den Bosch, NL).
