Hildegard De Vuyst

Hildegard De Vuyst started her career as a dance critic and editor at theater magazine Etcetera. From 1994 onwards she worked as a dramaturgist, mainly with choreographer Alain Platel and his company les ballets C de la B. In 2001, De Vuyst started working for the Royal Flemish Theatre of Brussels (KVS). Since 2006, she has been involved, together with the KVS, les ballets C de la B and Plek vzw (non-profit association), in carefully elaborating a process in the Palestian Occupied Territories based on artistic exchanges with a new generation of Palestinian performing artists. Among others this process let to the establishment of PASS (Performance Art Summer School).

PASS is a collaborative relationship between the aforementioned Belgian organizations and the A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. Coordination is provided by dramaturge Hildegard De Vuyst, who works closely with Mahmoud Abu Hashhash, head of the Culture and Arts department of the Qattan Foundation, and the Palestinian mentor of the project, François Abu Salem, former artistic director of El Hakawati. In 2011, the workshops of PASS led to a first fully-fledged show, Keffiyeh/Made in China. In 2013, Hildegard De Vuyst (KVS), Koen Augustijnen and Rosalba Torres Guerrero (les ballets C de la B) will present the dance production Badke.
