Dancing on the Edge is looking for dance films rooted in North Africa, West Asia and beyond for DOTE Festival 2024, Legacy & Seeds. Selected films will be presented in the form of an installation, which will travel with the festival to three cities in the Netherlands (Utrecht, The Hague and Amsterdam) in November and December 2024.
We welcome submissions of both new and old work. Because of the presentation form, we are able to consider films in various formats and resolutions. Shorter submissions (up to 2 minutes) are preferred, although longer submissions will be considered.
DOTE Festival 2024 Legacy & Seeds is a performing arts festival created within an ecosystemic paradigm. It will foreground network and community by highlighting overlapping geographies, inherited histories and multiple perspectives: human, a plant, the ‘voice’ of a city. The festival engages with curatorial questions such as: How to forge equal relationships in unequal systems? How to be in solidarity? How to (co)create collective futures?
