Scholarship Dancers 2016 Announced!

Two strong, talented female dancers have been selected for this years’ scholarship program by Dancing on the Edge and the Henny Jurriëns Foundation (HJS): Mariem Bouajaja (Tunisia) and Hoor Malas (Syria).
With this scholarship, the dancers are able to participate in the Summer Intensive Program of HJS and to visit performances at Julidans Festival. Hundreds of dancers and teachers travel to Amsterdam each year for the Summer Intensive Program. Thanks to generous contributions via crowdfunding and other grants, Dancing on the Edge can offer these scholarships.

Bouajaja and Malas are performing in the informal workshop showings on 8, 15 and 22 July at the Chassé Studios (Amsterdam), starting at 18:00. On Thursday July 14th at 20:30, they each present a solo in Belcampo Café (Amsterdam).

Since 2012, Dancing on the Edge has provided numerous scholarships for talented dancers from the Middle East and North Africa.
