Äataba (the threshold, in Arabic), examines the contradictions of the individual and the society in Moroccan society. The duality of life there – what behavior is expected  and what actually happens, is shown by revealing the teeming sensuality which breaks loose in the night clubs and bars and discos – hidden from view but not illegal.
