Cross-pollinating through artistic practices; cultivating places of togetherness.
We invite you to imagine with us what it takes to create a communal garden; and to think about the seeds, stories, knowledge and words you would plant, care for and conserve. We are exploring what it could mean to listen to seeds and to work together closely at a distance on different, yet common, grounds. We welcome you to physical and online spaces, through performance, walks, workshops and gardening; research into a togetherness that stretches over different geographies, and builds further on DOTE’s process of decentralizing its practice as a festival and cultural platform.
The third public moment in the year of listening has emerged out of a collective process of 8 artists/collectives/curators based in three different cities, Palermo, Beirut and Amsterdam, initiated and in resonance with Dancing on the Edge. Departing from their artistic, ecological, food, activist and agricultural practices, we have been exchanging and collaborating (online) for two months, planting physical and mental seeds. The events below, together the third public moment in the year of listening, have emerged out of this collective process.
We are building further on the themes of grief, brokenness, birth and death which we explored in the previous public moments in the year of listening. Our focus now is on practices that work through grief and with the trouble, and that are exploring them as generative places for new visions and relations with each other, with the non-human and with the world around us.
