Man is Man

Reza Gouran / Het Lab, De Toneelmakerij

Man is Man is an adaptation of the piece of the same name originally written by Bertolt Brecht. This version is written and directed by the Iranian director Reza Gouran, who has made it into a humoristic theater piece about the influence of war on the life of normal people.
The piece takes place in Basra during the Iraq-American war, but concerns various wars that have taken place between the USA, Western countries and religious fundamentalists in Islamic countries. The set for Man is Man was designed by the Iranian Siamak Ehsaei and the assistant director of the piece is Noureddin Heidari Maeer.

The piece is performed in English by Dutch actors, and is co-produced by Het Lab and de Toneelmakerij.
