After the War, in collaboration with Beeld voor Beeld – Documentary Film Festival on Cultural Diversity

Majid is a young talented singer of Iraqi folk music. A gentle, well-mannered, man with a strong stage presence, he lives and works in the province of Nasriyah in southern Iraq. The film details the obstacles and constraints Majid and his band face as a result of the actions of extremist Islamist groups and the unappreciative attitude of local officials. They all consider art and singing a sin and forbidden. But Majid and his band carry on and face up to the challenge before them, to ensure that art remains alive in their city, Nasriyah.
