WomenSpeak! Artistic Expression and Representation of Women in the Middle East

Nancy Jouwe / Karima Mansour, Mutiny Group

A debate in the series WomenSpeak! with the female director and actresses (Mutiny Group) of Unspoken Thoughts (Egypt) and with the female choreographer/dancer Karima Mansour of Nomadness (Egypt) about their work and the image of women in their own countries and in the West. Both productions play with stereotypes and expectations, and in them the creators make their own voices heard. The moderator is Nancy Jouwe, programme director of Kosmopolis Utrecht.

WomenSpeak! is a project by Basis voor Actuele Kunst (Utrecht), the Graduate Gender Programme and the Centre for Humanities from Utrecht University, Kosmopolis Utrecht and TUMULT.
