Eyad Houssami

Eyad Houssami makes, and writes about theatre. He is the founder of Masrah Ensemble, a nonprofit theater company and organization in Lebanon, and the editor of English and Arabic editions of Doomed by Hope: Essays on Arab Theatre. He has directed plays by Camus, Ionesco, Chekhov, Albee, and Fornés and collaborates with contemporary playwrights in English, Arabic, and French. He has performed in dead Byzantine cities, produced a monodrama in a 13th century mansion only to be banned, and devised theatre with preteen Syrian refugees.
