Fadi El Tofeili

Fadi El Tofeili is a Lebanese writer, poet, editor, and translator who has been living and writing in the Netherlands since 2017.

As a journalist, El Tofeili has published his writings in Annahar newspaper (Al Mulhak), Assafir newspaper, and Al Hayat newspaper. From 1999 till 2010, he worked for Al Mustaqbal newspaper and was one of the main writers and editors of the weekly cultural supplement Nawafez. In 2012 he co-founded Portal 9, the first bilingual (Arabic & English) journal of stories and critical writing about urbanism and the city. He was also the editor-in-chief of the journal.
El Tofeili has published three poetry books and has translated many literary and mythological works. His book A Trace to Trail: Neighborhood Narratives of City and Place was published in 2014 by Ashkal Alwan (the Lebanese Association for Plastic Arts). A new poetry book will be published in November 2019.
He is a member of the steering committee of Buddy to Buddy, which links newcomers to the Netherlands with Dutch people, culture, and system.
