Feri de Geus, Noortje Bijvoets / Ramad Dance

Damascus

Ramad Dance was based in Damascus, Syria. The company was, until the tragic death of its director Lawand Hayo in 2009, one of the most innovative contemporary dance groups in Syria.

In 2007, Feri de Geus and Noortje Bijvoets, directors of Le Grand Cru, were invited to make a piece commissioned by Dancing on the Edge. Throughout the creative process, they gave daily training (ballet and modern dance) to the dancers who took part in the project.
