Arita Baaijens

Arita Baaijens is a Dutch explorer, biologist and writer. She is forever curious about the world and explores both physical landscapes and mindscapes, which are the last remaining white spots that Google Earth will never be able to find. She is a fellow of Royal Geographical Society and WINGS Worldquest, who selected her for the Wings Humanities Award 2014. Baaijens explored the Sahara on camel, Siberia on horseback and currently travels and works in Papua New Guinea and the Netherlands. She researches the meaning of landscape as well as sacred landscapes at risk. Baaijens is a pioneer, innovator and connector. In her work she uses deep mapping and multimedia techniques to rewild the Western mind.
