DOTE Get-Together #7

Tugela85 and Dancing on the Edge present a special edition of the DOTE Get-Together:

Rituals of Change -Our Personal and Collective Stories

5pm-7pm Thursday 19 May in the Blauwe Zaal at Tugela85 – Free Entrance

English will be spoken.

Every third Thursday of the month we invite our friends, curious neighbours and the artists in (and outside of!) our network to come together for a short while between the afternoon and evening at our home in T85. Each month we ask a different artist to share something of their practice; a story, a poem, a film, an insight into how they make their work. Each month we pose a question prompted by themes in their work, and every month the T85 kitchen dream team shake up our tastebuds with a treat.

This month, we have asked three artists who approach storytelling through different artistic disciplines to contribute to our special edition. They are storyteller and ethnomusicologist Anastasis Sarakastanos, food artist Maureen de Jong, and performance artist, dancer and writer Devika Chotoe. Dancing on the Edge’s theme Rituals of Change expresses our intensified urgency for moving with decoloniality, for transforming how we live and work with each other and the planet. We are interested in how our personal stories relate to the larger, collective stories, and how we tell those. We would love to have you join us.
