Atefeh Tehrani is director, choreographer and founder of the Bekhan Theater Group. She was a member of the group Black Narcissus for ten years. The group worked under the supervision of Hamed Mohammad Taheri, who introduced contemporary physical theater to Iranian artists.
Following the production of her performance, Othello (Dancing on the Edge Festival 2011), she was not permitted to continue her theatrical activities in Iran for six years. This year, she is returning to the stage with Café Lethe.
